The cover of lead-acid batteries is one of the components of the battery, which at the same time plays a key and complex role in the quality of lead-acid batteries. Also, the lead-acid battery box as a compartment including plates and electrolyte must have special properties to have the lowest possible weight while being highly resistant to impact and thermal shocks.
After the development of lead-acid sealed batteries in which the cover of the battery is sealed and it is no longer possible to visit the electrolyte during battery life, the design of the battery cover becomes especially important and one of the design parameters in reducing the amount of electrolyte with consumption index of water.
In the design of these doors, ducts are designed to direct the emitted gases from the battery electrode to the outside of the battery box, to achieve the maximum pressure drop in the exhaust gas path to maximize the conversion of hydrogen and oxygen to water and its return to battery.
